Kyra,

You commented on my blog about why the Kansas City Public Library chose to do a mock Coretta Scott King award session. In our area other libraries were already hosting Mock Newbery, Printz, and Caldecott sessions. Also we all felt that we wanted to learn more about this award. This is only the second year of the mock session (the first I've attended) and we were fortunate to have a committee member with us to talk us through the process and answer our many many questions. It was educational and fun. We only did the illustrator award due to time constraints.

Hope this helps!
