Kansas City Quilt Show
The Johnson County Sun newspaper recently featured this photo of sisters Betty (quilter) and Susie Smith at the Inspired Threads: African American Quilts exhibit at the Johnson County Museum of History, just outside of Kansas City, KS. The Mo-Kan Heart Quilters Guild pieces are on display until December 31. You'll see a quilt for Luther Vandross by Yvette Morton (Leawood, MO); Sherry Dicus (Overland Park, KS), and much more!

Hi Kyra,
I'm delighted that you blogged on the "MOKAN" Quilter's Show, but
while reading your blog, I noticed that your information was not correct. Susie Smith on the right and in the front is the quilter. Betty Smith, a friend of hers, is on the left. It was originally published incorrectly in the Sun Times that they were sisters. They are not, although they've been friends for over 30 years and share the same last name.
Thanks,
Kathleen, her birth sister.
Kathleen,
Thank you for your note and correction. Appreciate it!
Best, Kyra
