Ellen Johnson Sirleaf RARE fabric

The Internet can be a GEM! Thank you to Bernard Collet - who has an extraordinary collection of 200 different African fancy prints - scroll down to see yesterday's post. He forwarded to me a scan of a RARE - at least here in the US - print of Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf. (You can read a commentary about the new president by Mojúbàolú Olúfúnké Okome in JENDA: A JOURNAL OF CULTURE AND AFRICAN WOMEN STUDIES).

I'll trade practically any piece in my African American fabric collection for a half yard or more of the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf fabric! Thanks for sharing Mr. Collet.

Wow, I love your blog. I will certainly visit again. You visited my blog and asked what an ATC is. Well its an Artist Trading Card. Mine are mini quilts..2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. And we trade them. Each month has a different theme plus at other times we trade other types. Its fun.

I love the look of your book you wrote. I have several childrens books related to quilting. I homeschool my children and have developed a love for childrens books. Not good in some ways!
Have a nice Christmas

Just found your blog through my google search of "african fabric sirleaf." I see this post is over 2 years old! Did you ever get any Ellen Johnson Sirleaf fabric? I'd be so jealous! Delighted to find your blog and now need to get caught up on all your posts!

Elizabeth,

Thank you for your note. I wasn't able to find the fabric in the photo here, but a friend did give me a piece of another Ellen Johnson Sirleaf print. I keep ever hopeful!

Best, Kyra
