Sneak Peek - 2011 Book on Black Ohio Quilters!
Shhh! You can pre-order Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi's new book titled "Stitching a Culture Together: African American Quilters of Ohio." This 128 page book is set to be published in January 2011. I'm taking votes - what state should be next? Enjoy!

Dear Kyra,
I love your blog because I walk away with a list of books that I want to purchase. I love quilting and reading insightful educational resources that inspire me to remain focused. Also, I'm looking forward to the upcoming Skin Quilt Project DVD featuring Dr. Mazloomi and other quilters as well. I saw your work in the Textural Rhythms: Quilting the Jazz Tradition book and it was so inspirational. Thank You for your dedication as quilter and writer.
Sincerely,
Ms. Sherise Marie Wright :)
Kyra,
Just ordered the book from Amazon...really two. One for Sandy.
Of course, I vote for California to be the next state featured
I am enjoying Dr. Mazloomi's book
on the Obvama quilts. UIt was well worth the wait.
Sherise,
Thank you for your note! Glad you enjoy the blog.
wellll, the most logical next state should be a bordering state to Ohio (in my not so humble opinion) and since Dr. Mazloomi lives in Cincy, it would be easier to just cross the river and come to Kentcuky! right?! :)
