If you're in the Marion, NC area visit the Historic Carson House for the exhibit "Pieces of the Heart: Carson House Quilts." The exhibit includes 13 quilts, including slave-made quilts. The oldest quilt was stitched about 1810 by a slave named Kadella. Another quilt was created by Sirra, a house slave, around 1840. There will be a special quilt exhibit reception this Saturday, Oct 4. Admission is $4. Enjoy!
